Ardath opens its doors to combat loneliness and isolation

To mark Older People's Day, we are welcoming people into ourresidential care home in Bexhill for a free hot lunch, to enjoy some friendly company and to take part in a variety of activities.

Ardath care home in Bexhill will open its doors on Friday 12 October; from 11am to 4pm. Visitors can enjoy a quiz, refreshments with the Mayor of Bexhill, Councillor Abul Azad, and MP Huw Merriman, and a two course lunch, all followed by an interactive ‘Have I Got News For You’ session.

Vafa Hurst, Regional Manager said: “We know that one million older people in the UK can go for a whole month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member. Social isolation is a problem local communities can help to tackle. We want to give older people the opportunity to spend time with our friendly residents and staff whilst enjoying some fresh, home cooked food and activities. We’d encourage people to book their place so please call us on 01424 210538.”

Sussex Housing & Care’s mission is to help people live their later life to the full.
