Our management team

Our senior management team meets every month and is responsible, alongside employees in their departments, for delivering our business plan.

Tracy Evans, Chief Executive

Tracy Evans joined Sussex Housing & Care as our new Chief
Executive on 3 January 2017. She has 30 years experience in housing and support, starting as a trainee housing officer at Octavia Hill Housing Trust.

Most recently Tracy has held the positions of Housing Director and Head of Housing for Affinity Sutton and Eastbourne Homes.  She has lived and worked in Sussex for 14 years and loves walking, leading Ramblers walks within the Sussex countryside most weekends.

Amanda Hodge, Director of Housing and Care

Amanda Hodge joined Sussex Housing & Care on 27 February 2017 as our new Director of Housing & Care.  She has nearly 30 years’ experience in social housing, covering housing management, development, housing options working for a number of housing associations (including a national older person’s provider) and two local authorities. 

In her last post at Wealden District Council she carried out a review of the sheltered housing stock which was refurbished and re-branded as Retirement Living.  Amanda is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing. 

Sarah Roebuck, Finance Director

Sarah Roebuck joined Sussex Housing & Care on 23 January 2017 as Finance Director,  Sarah was previously Director of Finance & Resources at Brighton Housing Trust.  Sarah is a FCCA qualified accountant and has worked in a number of senior posts in a range of sectors including healthcare, education, banking as well as social housing.

Mark Chandler-Bird, Interim Head of Procurement

Mark comes with 25 years’ experience working in social housing including senior management experience across a range of housing associations. His specialities include response and planned maintenance, statutory compliance, procurement and construction resolution. Mark is a passionate advocate of engaging with customers in all aspects of business delivery and pushing the bar to ever increasing heights.

Peter Bishop, Head of Property and Health and Safety

Peter has 36 years experience in the construction industry, 20 of which have been in senior management. He has a first class degree in business, is a Prince 2 project management practitioner and a member of the Chartered Management Institute. During the last ten years, Peter’s roles have been within the property and facilities management sector working for Connaught PLc, Active Projects Lts and Cegelec UK an electrical engineering company.

Kevin Moore, Interim Business Support Manager

An experienced manager with a strong customer focus who is skilled in the use of programme and project management, communications, customer consultation, staff training and performance management. He has worked for a variety of Local Authorities and Housing Associations including Blackwood, a provider of Housing and Care services for people who are disabled. Kevin joined SHC as a consultant at the end of 2014 to lead Sussex Housing & Care through its change programme  

Vafa Hurst, Regional Manager - Eastern

Vafa joined SHC in 2003 as a Care Assistant having previously worked as a registered nurse.  Her passion and operational expertise within housing and care has seen her progress rapidly within the organisation. As Regional Manager for the Rother region, Vafa oversees the management of Saxonwood and Ardath care homes and our numerous sheltered and independent schemes.

Diane Knight, Regional Manager - Central

Diane Knight is a highly experienced professional within health and social care. She has 20 years experience as a Care Assistant, 3 years as a Senior Care Assistant, 5 years as a Care Home Manager, 1 year as an Area Manager and 1 year as a Regional Manager. Diane is passionate about providing a good quality of life to all of the residents in her care,coupled with providing an excellent service. Her expertise lies within achieving positive outcomes in difficult situations and relationship building.

Nicolette Lane, Regional Manager - Western

Nicollette has over 11 years experience in housing in differing roles, namely Executive Assistant to CEO and Board, Head of Shared Ownership Sales and more recently looking after extra-care homes and retirement schemes.  She is very passionate about supporting older people to live their later years as independently as possible with individually tailored support.

Debbe Wordley, HR Manager

Debbe joined Sussex Housing & Care on the 15 May 2017. She brings with her seven years experience of  working in the not for profit health and social care sector at RSAS Age Care, as well as experience of working in the commercial sector.

Debbe particularly enjoys working in HR and in this sector, as it's about people and supporting them in their day to day work -  ensuring they have all the correct resources in place to enable them to provide an effective and efficient service to all our service users.
