Bank Domestic and Bank Kitchen Assistant

Location: Oakwood Court Care Home, Haywards Heath

Description:

We are looking for a Bank Domestic Assistant to maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and Bank Kitchen Assistant work in the busy care home kitchen, to assist the Chef in providing a comprehensive catering service to the residents.

Main Accountabilities for Domestic role:
Work in designated areas as prescribed on a rotating basis and as instructed by the Home or Regional Manager.

Vacuum and clean residents rooms, the corridors and all communal areas within the home to a high standard.

Ensure that the furniture, fittings including furniture, fabric, and equipment are also cleaned and maintained to a high standard.

Be respectful of residents personal belongings and help contribute to their upkeep / cleaning (e.g. furniture) and that any objects that are removed for cleaning are replaced in the same position.

Ensure the residents are safe whilst carrying out cleaning tasks.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Recognise resident’s rooms and belongings are personal and private
• Awareness of Health and Safety
• Awareness of Manual Handling Operation regulations
• Ability to work as a team member and equally use initiative
• Need to demonstrate safe practices.

Main Responsibilities for Kitchen Assistant:
• Assist in the preparation, presentation and serving of meals within the Home as instructed by the Chef or Home Manager
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area and utensils in accordance to the schedule set by the chef Manager
• Follow guidance and instruction set by the Chef and Home Manager to ensure current Environmental Health Regulations and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection Standards of Quality and Safety are adhered to
• To comply with all statutory and company food regulations concerning health and safety, food, kitchen equipment and kitchen practices.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work and demonstrate understanding of safe practices

Remuneration: £7.77 per hour Hours of work Domestic: 7:00am - 2pm Hours of work for Kitchen Assistant: 7:am - 2pm and 5pm - 7pm Contract type: Bank
