Property Surveyor

Description:

Main Accountabilities:

� Undertaking property surveys and developing/updating the asset register and stock condition data base as necessary in order to inform the proportion of the Planned and Cyclical programmes and Decent Homes Standard compliance.
� Provide onsite project management of selected major repairs from inception to site start in order to efficiently deliver the approved programme in compliance with the annual budget.
� Observe, record and evaluate contractor and consultant performance to guarantee efficient and effective deliver of each project.
� Draw up specifications, obtain quotations, issuing tenders, providing tender reports, obtaining approvals and issuing contracts in line with policy and procedure.
� Ensuring that all Statutory Authority, Local Authority and other relevant regulations and guidance notes are observed in carrying out major repairs, improvement work and adaptations.
� Providing onsite project management of selected adaptations, planned and cyclical repairs and, where appropriate, from inception to site start in order to efficiently deliver the approved programme in compliance with the annual budget.
� Receive Health & Safety File information for planned maintenance projects for asset portfolio and ensure the correct data is extracted and recorded properly within the appropriate systems.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

� You will need to have attained at least GCSE Grades A-C in English and Mathematics and be qualified to minimum of HNC level in relevant technical discipline with at least 5 years� of running and organising construction/repair projects preferably in a housing/care environment.
� A proven track record in delivering responsive repairs/technical services in social housing or similar environment.
� Knowledge of project management, budgetary management, project delivery and standard contract models.
� Good understanding of construction and procurement legislation.
� Understanding of asset management, componentisation and business planning
� In addition to the foregoing you will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to tight timescales. Be a confident and proficient user of IT i.e. Microsoft Office and other IT packages and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Additional Requirements:

You will need to hold a full driving licence and be a car owner as full mobility access across Sussex is required.

Remuneration: Salary £29995 per annum Hours of work 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday inclusive
