Part-time Domestic

Sussex Housing and Care

Location: Oakwood Court Care Home, Haywards Heath

Description:

We are a Sussex based not-for-profit housing association and all our income is spent on improving our homes and developing our staff.
We are looking to recruit a Domestic to assist in providing a high standard of cleanliness, whilst promoting privacy and dignity maintaining whenever possible independence of living to support residents.

Main Responsibilities:

- To work in designated areas as prescribed on a rotating basis and as instructed by the Home or Regional Manager.
- To vacuum and clean residents rooms, the corridors and all communal areas within the home to a high standard.
- To ensure that the furniture, fittings including furniture, fabric, and equipment are also cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
- To be respectful of residents personal belongings and help contribute to their upkeep / cleaning (e.g. furniture) and that any objects that are removed for cleaning are replaced in the same position.
- Ensure the residents are safe whilst carrying out cleaning tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

- Recognise resident's rooms and belongings are personal and private

- To demonstrate safe practice

- Good communication skills

- Maintain a polite and courteous manner towards residents, staff and visitors to the home at all times

- Awareness of health and safety, COSH and manual handling regulations
