Kitchen Assistant

Location: Oakwood Court Care Home, Haywards Heath


Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, presentation and serving of meals within the Home as instructed by the Chef or Home Manager.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area and utensils according to the schedule set by the Chef Manager.
• Follow guidance and instruction set by the Chef and Home Manager to ensure current Environmental Health Regulations and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection Standards of Quality and Safety are adhered to.
• To comply with all statutory and company food regulations concerning health and safety, food, kitchen equipment and kitchen practices.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and utensils is maintained to standard.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work and demonstrate understanding of safe practices.
• Ability to understand and adhere to organisational policies and procedures

Remuneration: £8.17 per hour. Permanent contract. Working 27 hours per week shifts to include weekends. - Uniform provided - 22 days' annual leave pro rata (excluding bank holidays) - Contributory pension scheme, with employer contributions - A dedicated Employee Assistance Programme providing confidential support and advice - Shift bonus - Refer a friend bonus - School holiday bonus. - Further training available

Hi, I am very interested in this job, i worked with east sussex county council for 28 years, in a day centre for adults with a learning disability. Since the beginning of this year i have been full time at hindleap warren in there kitchen, where i was part time for the year before.
