Senior Care Assistant

Location: Oakwood Court Care Home, Haywards Heath


To support the management of the Home.
To work shifts (to include weekends) as stated on the staff rota.
Deputise for the Deputy Manager in their absence.

Main Accountabilities

• Acting within the care team and in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, to supervise, support and assist in the induction and training of the care staff.
• Act as the senior person on duty in the absence of the Home Manager and Deputy.
• Assist in the regular review of risk assessments and care plans in accordance with legislation or where the needs of any resident alter.
• Administer residents' medication in accordance with the Home's drug administration system and pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining a high standard of care and a homely environment for the residents.


• NVQ level 3 or 4 or agreement to undertake training to these levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• At least one year's experience in this role or a similar field.
• Ability to prioritise own workload and the workload of other staff and use initiative.
• Ability to work unsupervised at times.
• Ability to lead and supervise other staff on shift.

Remuneration: £10.94 per hour. Working 15 hours per week.
