We love a party and it doesn't take much for us to create a hive of activity in our care homes, from the pre-party preparations, to the big day itself, and this last weekend was no exception.
We celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style at our three care homes in Sussex, where residents spent time with each other, their families and our care teams.
We had a boogie, a big quiz and royal bingo at Saxonwood care home in Battle, alongside a superb tea party and live music.
We basked in the sunshine at Oakwood Court care home in Haywards Heath and timed our tea party perfectly with the weather. Residents enjoyed eating a delicious spread of food together on the garden terrace and adorned themselves with crowns and festive hats whilst listening to live music.
At Woodlands care home in Crowborough we toe tapped to the wonderful sounds of Rob T on his ukulele and created some magnificent royal crafts to decorate the home.
These jubilee celebrations have brought many smiles to many faces and it's been wonderful to hear the stories and reminiscience of the coronation in 1953, which is a vivid memory for so many of our residents. We've captured their memories in a digital story called 'Supposed she sneezed' which you can watch here.
Congratulations to Her Majesty on her amazing 70 years as Queen of our country.
