Going green is how we roll!
‘Reduce, reuse and recycle’ is at the forefront of our minds here at Sussex Housing & Care and we’re making changes to the way we do things to enable us to be greener and kind to our environment.
We have a sustainability strategy, and as part of this we have implemented a number of green initiatives across our organisation. We…
- installed recycling bins in our support services office and in our care homes;
- have ‘sustainability champions’ – members of staff who share and implement sustainable ideas and encourage and empower colleagues to do the same;
- grow vegetables and herbs with our care home residents; and
- recycle materials and use these in our arts and crafts activities.
New for this year, we are currently starting to collect stamps, drinks ring pulls and batteries to help fundraise for charities and recycle these materials we regularly use.
