Sussex Housing & Care have recently been awarded a silver accreditation by Wellbeing at Work East Sussex, for our staff wellbeing programme.
Being part of this programme has enabled us to demonstrate everything we do in terms of wellbeing and also showcase the support available to our teams. The judges were particularly impressed by our comprehensive benefits platform ‘Brighter Benefits’, the staff health and wellbeing survey, our wellbeing webinars and our mental health first aiders and champions.
Our HR team have worked hard over the last few months to collect all the information needed to meet the criteria. Debbe Wordley, HR Manager said: “We entered the Wellbeing Award scheme to showcase how we look after our staff, what benefits they can have access to and what additional services we offer within the organisation to ensure our staff feel appreciated.
“Obtaining the Bronze award last year was a great achievement for the organisation, being the first care home organisation to gain this, and now we have been achieved the silver award showing that we continue to take our staff’s wellbeing seriously. We are very proud to be one of the few companies who have been given this award, including being the first care home organisation, and we believe this is an appealing aspect of our recruitment and retention.”
Lisa Williams, Training Co-ordinator, has been instrumental in our success and looks forward to further developing our wellbeing offer for staff. “I think it’s really important to continue to invest and build upon our award and share as much as we can with colleagues to support their wellbeing. We have some great ideas in the pipeline and look forward to aiming for gold in the future!”
The Wellbeing at Work Programme aims to provide support to East Sussex employers with improving employee health and wellbeing in their workplace.
