News from Woodlands

Congratulations to the team at Woodlands Care Home in Crowborough who have achieved a 5* food hygiene award at a recent environmental health inspection.

Robbie, Chef Manager, shared his reaction to the award: “This is the first inspection I've had since starting as Chef Manager. I was able to discuss key areas with the inspector, and any changes we could make, although she couldn't give me any recommendations for improvements to our paperwork which is great! She said the kitchen is well run which was very complimentary.”

Robbie continued: "It's nice to know that the standards I have for the kitchen are of a similar standard to those the inspectors are looking for, and my eye for cleanliness is of a high standard.

I'm fairly new to my role and I enjoy having one clear focus on what I'm doing, and I get satisfaction from being able to deliver to a really good standard. I like welcoming new residents to Woodlands and meet with them when they arrive so I can learn about their favourite dishes and can adapt the menu to their likings, as well as get feedback from everyone on a daily basis. 

It's not just me who has achieved this 5* hygiene inspection, all of the catering team have contributed and it's been a real team achievement!"
