"I’m always told if talking was an Olympic sport, I would win gold!

I’m excitable and enthusiastic and my main goal as an Activity Co-ordinator is to make our residents’ day brighter with our sunny moments club. I arrange lots of fun things from sewing and crafts to exercises, dancing and hula hoops – just to name a few!

Residents enjoy one to one chats with me and I make sure I’m always approachable. When I run activities I like to give residents options and choice, and I adapt activities so people of all abilities can take part and I don’t leave anyone out.

After having a good chat with residents, getting to know their likes and dislikes, I arrange a sunny moments club that interests each individual, whether it’s trying new things or supporting residents to continue a lifelong hobby, there’s always something for everyone. I really love what I do!"

Thanks to Khirstie at Oakwood Court Care Home in Haywards Heath for helping us to celebrate National Activity Providers and Professionals Week 2022 and thank you to all of our wonderful Activity Co-ordinators who bring rays of sunshine to our residents.
