Celebrating Older People with our Full of Life events

We are taking part in the Full of Life festival throughout October to mark the United Nations’ International Day of Older Persons on October 1.

The Full of Life festival, co-ordinated by East Sussex County Council, celebrates older people in our communities and there are over 50 events and activities on offer throughout September and October across the county. 

Sussex Housing & Care have the following free events planned in our housing schemes and welcome anyone 50 plus to join us. 

Technology tutorial – get your questions answered!

Monday 7 October, 10.30am to 11.30am
Communal lounge, Clevedown, Barons Down Road, Lewes, BN7 1EY
Would you like to know more about what you can do on your smart phone
or tablet? How to take photos and attach them to an email? Or how to video
call friends or relatives? This tutorial is a one-stop shop for answering your
questions about using smart technology.
Cost: Free. Booking: Required. Catering: Free tea, coffee and biscuits.
Transport: Bus stop by Lewes Prison is close to Clevedown. Lewes train
station is 1 mile away from Clevedown. Limited visitor parking spaces on
site. Free parking on Barons Down Road.

Coffee, cake and chat

If you’d like some friendly company, alongside delicious free refreshments
and a relaxing atmosphere in our communal lounge at Ashleigh Glegg, then

A light-hearted and fun quiz

Test your general knowledge with a fun, light-hearted quiz. A great way to
meet new people, have a chat and play along with others as you give those
mental muscles a stretch. Enjoy from the comfort of our communal lounge.

Craft workshop – make Christmas cards

Get crafty with us and enjoy making your own Christmas cards – as well as
the feel good factor of being prepared nice and early! Friendly and relaxed
session with all supplies included.

Overall there are a mix of free and paid-for activities available for the 50 plus age group during the festival, with some activities continuing throughout the year. This year’s programme features age friendly activities ranging from tech tutorials, quizzes, and lunch clubs to film screenings, craft workshops, and singalongs, as well as events for people with dementia.
