We are putting plans in place to help residents living in our sheltered and leasehold housing have access to food and supplies. Our scheme managers will be sharing information with residents about local services who can deliver, including for example food and pharmacies.
Residents who are online may want to consider doing an online grocery shop which can be delivered to the front door. Here is a useful tutorial for online grocery shopping.
Some supermarkets including Sainsburys and Iceland are offering designated opening hours to older people, to enable them to shop in isolation.
Scheme managers will be supporting residents to get online so they can stay connected with friends and family throughout this time, for example; setting up email addresses or learning how to skype or facetime. Here is a useful link to setting up and using skype.
Yesterday the government announced that the planning rules will be relaxed so pubs and restaurants can operate as hot food takeaways during the coronavirus outbreak.
This may be useful to our sheltered housing and leasehold residents, especially if they are able to deliver food to the doorstep. More information about this is available here on the government website.
