Here is Gary. Gary loves to dance. Gary loves to dance so much that his enthusiasm for dancing brings everyone to their feet.

Before Gary moved to Oakwood Court care home in Haywards Heath, dancing wasn’t his thing. So much so, that he’d never been seen on the dance floor, especially at a wedding! It wasn’t until our carers noticed his upbeat toe tapping during our music and movement activities that his recent passion for dancing came to light. They encouraged Gary to take to his feet and low and behold the boogies began! Gary’s beaming smile when the music plays is priceless.

Gary is now the first to the dance floor and the rest follow. Our carers join in and the disco starts! Gary loves busting a groove to Abba and anything rock’n’roll, and the wonderful expression on his face when he’s dancing brings joy to everyone’s day.

Dancing makes Gary’s day brighter, it lifts his spirits and he’s cheery and upbeat. It’s great we’re able to get to know our residents so well, and what makes them tick. Dancing is Gary’s favourite, and our music speaker is never far away when he’s around!
