Residents at St Thomas of Canterbury Court in Mayfield have used the great weather and the time spent in lockdown to practice their gardening talents. They have tidied and edged flower beds, planted summer bedding and cleared long lost areas of the garden – all whilst socially distancing.
John Leitch, who has been part of the gardening club said:
The great weather encouraged me out of my flat and gardening was a way for me to have something to think about other than the pandemic, and also to get some fresh air and exercise. One of the other residents was also doing the same and he knew more about gardening than me, so we teamed up and worked on the garden and watering every day. It has kept me active mentally and physically and helped pass the worst of the lockdown.
The gardens look fantastic!
