This year’s not been so good for lots of children or grown-ups, so when it comes to having fun, Sussex Housing & Care and Save the Children believe we’ve got some catching up to do! So put on your silly jumper with pride, put that Christmas playlist together, sing some carols and enjoy some seasonal food. Have some festive fun and make a donation on Friday 11 December!
Residents and staff will be donning their best Christmas jumpers, and upcycling old jumpers by getting crafty, adding tinsel, sequins and Christmas trees as embellishments. Where this isn’t possible due to current restrictions (for example for our lovely teams working hard in our care homes), they’ll be making their own. Going all out and adding the likes of tinsel, Christmas trees, snowmen and sequins to their normal clothing and uniforms.
Staff will be decorating their workspaces and even decorating themselves, turning themselves into Christmas trees!
If you’re into your arts and crafts, why not have a go at making your own Christmas decorations such as baubles or wreaths. If you prefer, turn the oven on and get mixing (after you’ve washed your hands for 20 seconds obviously!). Don’t forget those mince pies, shortbread or bake some biscuits and decorate them for the tree!
We’ll be taking Christmas Jumper Day online and staff will be able to log in live to join our care homes across Sussex, to join in the fun and catch up with residents and staff at Ardath, Bexhill, Saxonwood in Battle, Woodlands, Crowborough and Oakwood Court in Haywards Heath.
Whatever your style, whether it’s crafty, funny, vintage, stylish or just silly, make the world better with a sweater and donate at our gofundme page - gofundme.com/shc-jumper-day
