Sussex Housing & Care has launched a new electronic i-care system at Woodlands care home in Crowborough. This new state of the art system enables us to continue to provide person centred care to our residents whilst using modern technology to save time and paper.
The new system uses smart phones which our carers carry with them to record the care they have provided to each resident. For example, how they have supported them, what daily activity they've enjoyed and how the resident is feeling. At the end of each shift the new team can easily access the notes for each resident and continue to provide an excellent service and personalised care for each individual.
The launch has been highly anticipated and the Woodlands team have been preparing for sometime, including uploading all of the paper care plan information for each resident onto the system, and also training the staff team to use the smart phones.
Woodlands is the second of our care homes to benefit from the new system. Saxonwood care home in Battle is next to install it and they start the training this month. All four of our care homes will have the i-care system by the end of the year.
