Today is Professional Care Workers Day and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our amazing care staff for their hard work and dedication delivering fantastic care to our residents each and every day!
Our care staff spend a lot of time building relationships with our residents, through which they can deliver person-centred and relationship-centred care. They enable residents to live the lives they wish to, whilst helping them to manage their health and social care needs.
Going beyond giving the physical care that helps people; care staff provide companionship and psychological support. No value can be placed on the ability to make someone laugh or smile and make their day better.
Here are the thoughts of some of our care home residents:
“The carers are great and what I love about them is that they really care. It’s not just a job, the team are so dedicated and I love them all.”
“I never thought in a million years I would be happy in an old people’s home, but I am and feel part of a family and that’s very nice at my age. I can’t speak too highly of our staff, they have seen me through so much, from another heart scare, nearly losing my leg with skin cancer, having a pacemaker fitted, and so many things that come with old age."
“The carers are lovely, I don’t need lots of help but they’re always there when I do. Top marks to them all!”
“We’re spoilt here, the carers couldn’t be better, they’re absolutely wonderful. They have patience and I enjoy having a natter.”
“I can’t fault the carers, even when my friends come they always say I’ve found the right care home. I knew from the moment I first looked around that Woodlands was for me, the staff are welcoming and friendly.”
