Sussex Housing & Care residents welcomed MP Alison Bennett to Oakwood, a retirement housing scheme in Haywards Heath this week.
The local MP for Mid Sussex spent time speaking with residents about her experience as an MP and her priorities for the constituency as well as listening to residents about the issues that mattered to them. Speaking about her time at Oakwood, Alison said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Oakwood Flats’ weekly Wednesday coffee morning, chatting to residents about my experiences as a new MP and discussing issues in Mid Sussex that are important to us. Thank you to Tracy, the team at Sussex Housing & Care, and all the residents of Oakwood for giving me such a warm welcome. It was a great way to start the day.”
Tracy Evans, Chief Executive of Sussex Housing & Care said: “There has always been a great community spirit at Oakwood and it was lovely to see so many residents come along to meet Alison as their MP and hear firsthand about the work she is doing on behalf of the local community. All agreed that it was time well spent! We look forward to welcoming Alison again soon.”
