Congratulations to Roxi Vargaluta, Deputy Manager at Saxonwood care home in Battle who scooped the ‘Frontline Leaders Award’ after becoming one of 17 South-East finalists in this category.
The award recognises Roxi’s dedication and commitment towards her work, her leadership qualities, and support for her team. The Great British Care Awards are a celebration of excellence across the sector and pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Presented with her award on stage in front of 500 social care professionals, Roxi said: “It was such a surprise and a big achievement, I feel amazing and really proud that my hard work has been recognised. I couldn’t believe it when they said my name and I’ve got this far. It’s a real team effort and I’m proud not only for myself but also for Sussex Housing & Care.”
The 15 judges recognised that Roxi has progressed her career at Saxonwood from a senior care assistant through to her current role as Deputy Manager. They said: “Roxi combines an intrinsically caring nature with outstanding leadership skills. She has a crystal-clear vision of what care should look like with the boundless energy and enthusiasm to make it happen. Well done Roxi!”
Louise Walker, Deputy Manager at Woodlands care home in Crowborough also attended the awards ceremony for her achievement of becoming a finalist in the same category. Louise said: “It was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate together with colleagues and other care providers, for all of the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment we give to our roles. Care is a brilliant career and I’m proud to have been nominated.”
