Saxonwood care home highly commended in Battle scarecrow competition
Amazing news! Our "Alice in Saxonland" scarecrow has been awarded 'highly commended' in this years Battle Scarecrow Festival!
Our twist on this traditional tale caught the eye of the judges and our Saxonwood Care Home team took the pleasure of receiving a certificate and goodie bag from the Mayor of Battle at the awards in Battle's market square yesterday.
The scarecrow competition is a firm favourite in our annual calendar, we love taking part in community events. Saxonwood care home residents and staff all get stuck in to create some weird and wonderful characters! This year Alice and the Cheshire Cat have caught the eye of many visitors and passing traffic, and we hope have brought a smile to many faces.
