Update on the extension | Oakwood Court Extension News

The extension at Oakwood Court is making great progress and we’re pleased that the new building is water tight, with all the windows in and most of the internal walls in place. The plasterers are busy in the corridors and bedrooms, and the tiles have begun to be laid in the ensuites in the new part of the care home. 

Works are underway to clear earth around the building and create the wonderful landscaped garden and lower ground floor patio area.

We’re delighted that the new extension is due to complete in mid-August 2025, the builders will finish their work and then we’ll be spending a couple of weeks placing the furniture and getting the new rooms up and running.

In the new part of the home, we’ll have a brand new hair/beauty salon, second dining room/lounge, a cinema and activity room, some informal seating spaces and a new lower ground floor patio area with access out to the garden.

Improvements to the existing home

We are also making improvements to the existing building, including a new care team office, foyer and reception area, extending the kitchen and redecorating communal areas. We expect this second phase of work to complete in November 2025.
